Job Type: Full time
The Institut Català de Nanotecnologia i Nanotecnologia (http://www.icn.cat/) (ICN2) is a private foundation created on 11 July 2003 with the objective of becoming a world-renowned centre for nanoscience and nanotechnology research. It is part of CERCA, the network of Research Centres launched by the Catalan Government as a cornerstone of its long-term strategy to foster development of a knowledge-based economy. ICN2's research lines focus on the newly discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the fascinating behaviour of matter at the nanoscale.
Job description: The ICN has recently set up a flexible nanofabrication laboratory to assist the research work held from the research groups within the institute. In the first plan the nanofabrication laboratory is equipped with nanolithography, metal deposition and characterization equipment.
We seek a candidate to be employed as a research engineer within the ICN2 nanofabrication laboratory. The candidate should have a PhD degree in physics, material science or electrical engineering with experience in nanofabrication processes. He/she will be working in an industry driven project with the aim to advance nano manufacturing processes. Moreover, the candidate will be assisting mainly in day-to-day R&D activities and to some degree support activities of the nanofabrication division.
Knowledge in one or more of nanolithography techniques (soft lithography, nanoimprint lithography etc.), etching techniques, surface characterisation techniques (SEM, AFM, etc.) would be highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are essential. English language is a prerequisite
