BSC-CNS is the National Supercomputing Facility in Spain and was officially constituted in April 2005. BSC-CNS manages MareNostrum, the most powerful supercomputer in Europe. The mission of BSC-CNS is to investigate, develop and manage information technology in order to facilitate scientific progress. With this aim, special dedication has been taken to areas such as Computational Sciences, Life Sciences and Earth Sciences. All these activities are complementary to each other and very tightly related. 

 

The Parallel Programming Models group from the Computer Science Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is offering a temporary junior position for research on programming models for heterogeneous FPGA platforms, including the develoment of runtime and compiler techniques to improve performance. This research aims at developing the support needed for the OmpSs programming model to run on FPGAs.

 

 Main Responsibilities:

• Develop compiler (Mercurium) and runtime (Nanos++) support for parallel execution on FPGA hardward
• Interact with the tools team for supporting performance analysis tools (Extrae, Paraver)
• Port, execute and analyse benchmarks to run on the FPGA Compare the performance obtained with that on other environments (SMP, GPUs)

Qualifications and Experience:

 

• A Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
• Fluency in the English language
• Experience on C/C++, CUDA and OpenCL
• Experience on OmpSs, OpenMP and MPI
