The Parallel Programming Models group from the Computer Science Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is offering a junior position for supporting development of the DEEP runtime and compiler infrastructures. DEEP aims at developing a prototype Exascale-enabling supercomputing platform consisting of traditional multi-core processors and Intel many-core MIC accelerators. The DEEP prototype will serve as proof-of-concept for a next-generation 100 PFlop/s PRACE production system.
The main responsibility of this position is to work on the DEEP project, interacting with the partners, and participating in the porting of the Nanos++ runtime targeting the Intel MIC architecture.
The position requires a strong knowledge of the C++ and C languages. Previous experience in the development of programming models, parallel programming (OpenMP, MPI, etc) and accelerators (OpenCL, CUDA, etc) will be valued.
Requirements and Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a BSc, MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. A good knowledge of the English language is required.
The salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The start date will be as soon as possible after the close date of the search (July 10th, 2012). Interviews may be conducted before the closing date.
