The Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, an advanced research center established in Barcelona (Spain), focuses its activity on fundamental and applied R&D related to the physical and lower layers of communications systems. Currently, the CTTC is interested in filling the following post-doctoral position in communication technologies:
POST-DOCTORAL POSITION:
Communication Subsystems (Ref. 3/2012-1, 1 position): The candidate must have research experience in satellite-based navigation systems and publication record in one or more of the following specialization areas: signal processing techniques for satellite systems, GNSS, and design/implementation of RF front-ends. Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping and concept demonstration of positioning technologies is fundamental. The mixture of theoretical background on signal processing and solid system prototyping skills is a must: the applicant should have demonstrated proficiency in wireless systems programming (VHDL/C++/MATLAB), and working knowledge of RF front-end design methodologies. Experience in embedded development (FPGA, CPLD, DSP) is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must be strongly motivated, hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications or electrical engineering; have capacity of carrying out innovative research as well as proven experience in research; a good publication record is fundamental. Practical experience and work experience in international and national R&D projects carried out in the context of R&D institutions will be highly valued.
CONDITIONS
The duration of the contract is 18 months, renewable. The rank and salary, in the range 24,000 – 30,000 €/year (gross), will be determined according to qualifications and work experience.
