The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an innovative centre created in December 2000 and located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).
The mission of the CRG is to promote excellent basic research in biomedicine, cutting-edge technology development and high quality training of the next generation of scientists. CRG has a highly international culture and the working language is English.
Post Description: Project Manager
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working Project Manager to join the new CRG office dedicated to international collaboration in the framework of the project “Sharing capacity across Europe in high-throughput technologies to explore genetic variation in health and disease” (GEUVADIS).
Funded by the European Commission 7th Framework Programme, the project will start in October 2010 and is coordinated by Prof. Xavier Estivill.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management of GEUVADIS and will have an active role in increasing the number of projects under GEUVADIS umbrella.
Additionally, the Project Manager will give support in the management of other coordinated projects run by the office.
Specific job duties will include:
•Management of the project to ensure compliance with EU regulations and deadlines
•Financial management (with support of Financial Department)
•Preparation and timely submission of scientific, management reports & contract amendments
•Support in the preparation of periodic reports of other EU and national projects
•Acting as advisor to partners on financial and administrative issues
•Organization of project events and training activities: meetings, workshops, phone conferences
•Project website development and updating (with support from IT department)
•Ensuring dissemination of project results to the scientific community and general public
•Streamline communication among project partners and with the Project Officer at the European Commission
•Travelling to attend project meetings and events
Candidate requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
•University degree in Biology and/or Social Sciences
•Good knowledge of EU policies and experience in the management of EC-funded projects
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Team player and ability to work independently
•Highly precise and organized
•Proactive, flexible and problem-solving attitude
•Strong IT skills (Excel, Power Point, etc)
•Excellent command of spoken and written English
Conditions:
•The position is full-time for 3 years in the frame of the GEUVADIS project
•Competitive salary depending on qualifications and previous experience
•The position can be extended depending on the successful awarding of future projects
