Job Title: Bioinformatician - Gene Regulation, Stem cells and Cancer
Description
The Institute The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. For further information: www.crg.eu The role The bioinformatician will work closely with members of the team (4 postdocs, 2 students, 3 technicians) to analyse the data from studying the mechanism of transcription factor induced cell reprogramming. Strong computational skills are necessary. About the team/ lab/ department We are interested in mechanisms of cell fate decisions, using two experimental systems developed in the lab: the transcription factor induced transdifferentiation of B cells into macrophages and the reprogramming of B cells into iPS cells. The work consists collecting samples at different times after inducing the cell conversion to capture the dynamic events that accompany this process. For this, we use a spectrum of different approaches, including RNAseq in bulk and in single cells, ChIPseq of transcription factors and histone marks, bisulfite and ox-bisulfite sequencing to study the methylome, HiC and 4C to study genome topology as well as a number of additional approaches based on next generation sequencing Whom would we like to hire? • You have a degree in Computational Biology or in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology) • You are capable of working in a group and • You are fluent in English   The Offer • Contract duration: One year with the possibility to be extended for another one year and a half • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales. • Target start date: January 2018 We provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures, and unique professional career development opportunities.
