
The Institut Català de Nanotecnologia (http://www.nanocat.org) is a research institution recently launched to conduct wide-scope edge research in several areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Job description:
The successful candidate is expected to head a new instrumentation laboratory working at the forefront of nanoscience by fostering internal research and development efforts in that area. The main focus of the laboratory is the conception and realization of new and creative instruments and equipments within the nanoscale field. The candidate must be able to conduct a qualified group of researchers and technicians and efficiently control and manage the funding allocated to the laboratory.
The candidate must have a hybrid profile with well established records in the development of new nanoscience instruments together with a solid scientific career. He/she will be responsible for the creation and consolidation of the new instrument development laboratory as an integrated scientific and technical unit to conceive advanced tools for nanoscience and nanotechnology, will actively collaborate with scientific groups of the institute in their research efforts assisting the design and development of instruments and experimental set ups, and also will be in charge of the mechanical and electronic workshop facilities of the institute. His/her responsibilities include scientific coordination of the members of the laboratory, management of the budget and personnel.

The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
