
IBEC (Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia) is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona. IBEC's mission is to develop national & international high quality
interdisciplinary research that, while creating knowledge, contributes to making a better quality of life, improving health and creating wealth. A close link with key universities, reference hospitals and corporations, are
assets that facilitate achieving the mission.
The patrons and founders of IBEC are the Generalitat de Catalunya, the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia(UPC).
IBEC is located within the Barcelona Scientific Park, with premises of 2.500 square meters, 14 research groups and a team of researchers and support services of 180 people from 18 different countries.

One of the objectives of IBEC is to establish relations with international research centres to exchange talent and to cooperate by developing joint research projects, as well as liasing with relevant
